Driving Directions

The National Scenic Byway portion of the Glenn Highway starts in Anchorage and extends to Milepost 137 (we are at Milepost 95) with many points of interest along the way. Visit www.glennhighway.org for a mile by mile commentary of what to see and do on your way to our cabins.

If you are arriving from Anchorage or Palmer, take the Glenn Highway (Ak-1) northeast towards Glennallen and Tok. There are no grocery stores in the Glacier View area, so be sure to purchase any food supplies before you arrive at the cabin. There is a Fred Meyer store and a Carrs/ Safeway store conveniently located at the major intersection with the Palmer/ Wasilla Hwy in Palmer. From Palmer continue up the highway towards Glennallen, you will be following the glacier fed Matanuska River and will start your climb up into the mountains. The distance is 45 miles but is an hours drive minimum, and you will want to take advantage of the many pull-outs with a scenic view, so be prepared to take your time driving and enjoy the fabulous scenery.

At Milepost 94 start watching for the blue highway signs that say Homestead Guest Cabins and Victory Bible Camp, then turn left off the highway onto Victory Road at mile 94.8. Follow Victory Road through the residential area for ¾ mile till you see our family sawmill and log yard. Look for a cluster of signs that say B&D Milling, Homestead Guest Cabins and Lee Drive — turn left here onto a gravel road and come up the hill past the 3 log cabins on your right. Just past the 3rd cabin, you will see our driveway on the left, marked by an old wagon wheel, flower box and another Homestead Guest Cabin sign. Come to our house and we will complete any necessary paperwork and get you settled in your cabin. If you happen to arrive when no one is home, there will be a note for you on the front porch door.

If you are arriving from the east or Glennallen direction, you will be traveling on the Glenn Highway (AK-1); enjoy your view of the Matanuska Glacier as you get close to our area. At Milepost 95, look for the blue highway signs that say Homestead Guest Cabins and Victory Bible Camp, then turn right off the highway onto Victory Road. Follow the above directions to find our house.
